Happy year of the Dragon fashionistas!
Obviously I love fashion, but right now, I am basically a girl cheering from the stands. I don’t have a fashion related degree, or true fashion experience. All my knowledge of fashion comes from books, magazines and basically my passion for the art of fashion.
That is why this year I decided to learn more about what goes behind the scenes. The people at Atrium RTW / Casa de Novia were very kind to open there door for me to learn more about what really goes behind fashion merchandising.
Atrium RTW is a cozy boutique located inside Casa de Novia. The beautiful 500 square-feet show room is beautifully decorated is a romantic French style with modern touches and beautiful white chandeliers. When you are inside you never want to leave, it is like a dream.
And what about the cloths you may ask; Well Atrium RTW offers as close to couture as possible, from cocktail and eveningwear along with select casual pieces. A few of the designers that you can find are Prabal Gurung, Vera Wang, Jason Wu, Angel Sanchez, and Yigal Azrouel among others.
(On a side note, earlier last year I had the opportunity to meet Prabal Gurung, while making an appearance at Atrium RTW … yeah I KNOW!!!)
The best part (and one of the major reasons why I wanted to be part of Atrium RTW) is because they offer the finest in elite labels but at the same time you get an individualized and extremely friendly shopping experience!
I can’t wait to share with you my experiences on my new adventure! Please feel free to stop by Atrium RTW any time and see the amazing pieces. Oh and if you got engage during the New Year, you so need to stop by Casa de Novia! They have the most AMAZING gowns!
After studying history of art and Italian literature, Anna Dello Russo took on the fashion world when she began working for Donna Magazine. Working on the magazine’s editing team, she met Vogue Italia’s Annalisa Milella. This was the beginning of a long chain of collaborations between the two women: Anna Dello Russo went on to work for Vogue Italia and Vogue l’Uomo for 18 years.
After growing tired of working in man’s world , Anna Dello Russo left her position at Vogue to work as a freelance journalist. She soon became a fashion consultant for Japanese Vogue and various couture houses. She is presently editor-in-chief of Japanese Vogue.
Fashion fanatic Anna Dello Russo is not only an editor. She is also a world-recognised personality known for her eclectic fashion sense. She has admitted to owning a personal collection of almost 4,000 pairs of shoes!

Thursday Carrie Ann Boutique hosted the Vitaminwater Zero Inspired Fashion Party, featuring the inspired contest winning design by Sarah Jawda. Replicas of the winning design were avlible for $25 each (plus any donations and receive 25% off your entire purchase) but the best part was that 100% of the proceeds of the shirt went directly to UNICEF, Sarah’s charity of choice.

Wednesday, my long time and very dear friend Amy and I enjoyed a night of fashion and mingling thanks to Women of Wardrobe “Sizzling Soirée” event at Tootsies .
Designers David Peck , Whitney Port and Shirin Askari, and jewelry designer Claudia Lobao, shared their latest collections. The best part, Tootsies donated 10 percent of sales from the evening to Dress for Success!
Personally, it was a very lovely night full of music and finally got the chance to meet two of my favorite Houston bloggers Merritt Beck of Manolos & Martinis and Annina St. of Cinched at the Waist
My mom and grandmothers are a HUGE part of why I love and appreciate fashion so much (you can read all about it HERE) Thinking about it for many fashion lovers as myself, our mother, grandmothers and other maternal figures, where the ones who introduce us to the beautiful world of fashion.
Here are other fashionistas who have their mother to thank for their fashion success and others who are passing their fabulous style to the next generation.
